Start your Webex meeting and open Slido

You can access Slido directly in your Webex meeting, regardless of whether it’s a scheduled meeting or an ad-hoc meeting using your Personal Meeting Room.

Once you’re in a Webex meeting:

  1. Click the Apps button in the bottom right corner
  2. Select Slido
  3. Choose your existing Slido or create a new one

This will open a Slido sidebar where you can set everything up and control Slido as the Host of the meeting.

Create your polls

Choose a poll type that you wish to use and add your question. Your poll is saved instantly, so you can Launch it immediately or go back to your list of polls to create more. You can decide whether you want to show poll results for your participants to see once they voted, or reveal them later.

If you’re using moderation, you can either Approve or Dismiss incoming questions.

For the questions which are Live, you can Highlight the question that’s being addressed so that everyone is on the same page. Afterwards, you can Mark it as answered, which will move it into the Archive tab, leaving room for other unanswered questions.

Displaying the Present mode is also useful if you want to share Slido joining instructions for those who can’t interact with Slido directly in the Webex meeting client.

How it works for the attendees

Polls

Once you launch a poll, Slido sidebar will automatically pop up for your attendees, inviting them to submit their votes. If you’re showing poll results, participants can see them after they submit their vote.

Audience Q&A

If you’re using Q&A, your attendees can simply submit their questions either anonymously or with their names. They can also upvote the questions they like which have been submitted by someone else.

If you highlight a question, this will move it to the top of the list and show it highlighted in blue for the attendees.

Hello @abvillar

Thanks for your question!

Yes, guest collaborators can activate polls and surveys from Slido admin via a computer or a smartphone. At the moment, it’s not possible to do so directly in Webex meeting.

To invite guest collaborators you can follow the linked article. If you’d need to invite external guests, you’ll need to exclude them via SSO settings. To do so, please scroll down to the “Invite guests when Single Sign On is set for your Slido Organization” section of the same article.

Hope this helps. If you have any further questions, we’re here for you!

Hi @Barb,

At the moment, only people from your organization can manage Slido in Webex. You should invite them via the Share access feature in the Slido event which you’ll be using.

I’m sorry for replying so late to your query. There have also been some changes to our product in the last month so I’m not sure if you’re still experiencing this behavior.

Please feel free to share an update on the situation.

Hello @abvillar and all,

Just a quick update here - the collaborator can now administer Slido directly in Webex meeting!

You can find more here:

Hope that helps! If you have any feedback, feel free to leave it under the article.

Best,

Dasa from Slido

Can a co-collaborator activate a poll/survey from the desktop or in a Webex Meeting?

Hi @Ally,

Yes, you can still generate a QR code even if the event is in Webex. To get the code, you just need to go to www.slido.com and log in with your Webex credentials and open the event connected to your meeting. You can then display the QR code in Present mode or you can download it.

Good luck with your townhall and let me know if you need anything else 🤗

Thank you Dasa! Do you know when that feature will be enabled in Webex or if ever?

Hi
We would like to hold a hybrid townhall meeting and embed slido via Webex. Is it still possible to create a QR code if the Q&A is generated within Webex? This would then allow physically present participants to also join.

Thank you in advance.

Best regards

Hey, @abvillar

I asked the team and although I don’t have an ETA for you, they do have the support for collaborators on the list of future features.

How much does this cost?

Hi @matt koupal,

To use Slido in Webex, you need a Webex plan. You can find the pricing of Webex plans here.

Hope this helps :) Let me know if you need anything else!

I would like to load a specific poll that I have created earlier into a Webex meeting. Can this be done ? The meeting organiser hasn’t added me as Slido collaborator. I would like to keep the poll ready and during the webex load it up. Is this possible ?

How does this feature work in Webex events? I was easily able to start it up in a regular meeting, but I don’t see how to do so in a webex event.

Hi @shankar,

When using Slido integration in Webex, Slido has to be administrated by the host of the meeting.

You can add your poll to a meeting even though you’re not the host or owner of the event, but you’ll need to be added as a collaborator to that specific event.

Then, during the meeting, it’ll be the host who will activate the poll.

Alternatively, you can ask the host of the event to make you host - so that you can take care of both adding polls and activating them during your meeting.

Please let me know if my explanation makes sense or if you need more help with the setup!

Hi @Rbougher,

Unfortunately, Slido is currently not available in Webex Events.

For now, for Webex Events, you can use Slido without the integration, by simply sharing your screen with Slido Wall and having your participants join with either their phones or in a browser by giving them the QR code or event code. Please keep in mind that there’s a limit of 5,000 participants per event to make sure that Slido is running smoothly.

Let me know if you need any help with setting up!

Getting added to a specific event as collaborator needs to be made simpler. Sometimes there are meeting updates/changes and I as a poll creator don’t know if my poll will work during the meeting. There should be a way for the host to pass Slido collaborator during the webex meeting. Changing the host is not practical ( host has a lot of other things to do ). We recently tried this in a customer event and even though we were finally able to run the poll, it was not an intuitive experience.

Hi,

If I am a host with a WebEx account with Slido integrated, but I need another presenter to administer the polls and Q&A, do they need to have a WebEx Event license to manage on the call ?

In testing we found that they showed up as pending approval in the admin https://www.sli.do for that meeting assuming this was due to not have an active license ?

Thanks !

Barb

Hi @shankar,

I’m sorry to hear about the troubles you experienced when it comes to collaborating on a Slido event in Webex. I totally agree with you that the current experience isn’t ideal and our team is aware of it.

I can assure you that it’s on our roadmap to bring some improvements to this flow and make it more seamless in the future.
