In this article, you can learn about the limitations of our Google Slides integration which can be removed by installing our free extension for Google Chrome

The extension provides a seamless integration, without the need to switch between Google Slides and Slido. It also ensuring that videos, animated transitions, and GIFs work as they should when you present.

If you’re having any issues with the Google Slides integration, please check out the Troubleshooting section of our Use Slido with Google Slides article.

Limitations

These Google Slides features will only work if you have our Chrome extension installed:

  • Animations on slides
  • Transitions between slides
  • GIFs
  • Hyperlinks

The following limitations apply to our Google Slides integration in general:

  • It's not possible to unlink a slido from the Google Slides presentation, but you can reuse the slido or add a new one to your presentation
  • You can use your PowerPoint presentation (.pptx) in Google Slides, however you have to relink your slido and add your polls and Q&A again.

The Google Slides Integration is not available on iPads or any other tablets.

Can you have BOTH Google Slides integration and the Chrome integration installed? I need to clarify which one to use as training for a bunch of people who will be presenting a deck with polls in different cities.

Hey @Back_that_SaaS_Up ,

Google Slides Add-on must be downloaded on any computer being used to create or present the slido.

For seamless presenting, install our extension for Google Chrome along with the add-on.

It is not required but it ensures that your animations, transitions, videos and GIFs all work well when presenting with our Slido for Google Slides add-on.

Hello. I have questions about setting up Slido polls in Google Slides for others to use in their upcoming talks.

Is it possible to set up a live Slido poll in a Google Slide deck that I don’t own, but can edit? Or do I have to be the Owner of the presentation?

Is it possible for someone else to present the Google Slide deck with live Slido polls in it that I have set up? If yes, would they also need to have the Slido add-on installed in Google Slides and have a Slido account? Would it be enough if they were just a cohost?

Thanks for your help with these questions.

Hello @RVaz,

You can create a Google Slides deck and have someone else add add a slido to it. They just need to be an editor of the deck. However, if they add a slido to your GS deck, they need to also invite you as a collaborator to that Slido. Otherwise you won't be able to access it and use it.

Conversely, if you create a GS deck, and add your Slido to it, for someone else to be able to present using that slido, they need collaborator access to the slido, and to the GS deck, both.

Here is an article about how collaboration works in Slido, and how to invite a collaborator.

best regards,
