What are best practices for using Slido during live meetings?

I plan to use Slido in a live meeting session that will include display of various Slido elements and outcomes. Some will be included in powerpoint, while others will be impromptu. What are some of the tips and tricks for new Slido administrators to use to ensure a smooth meeting experience between live presentation content, Slido elements and displaying results to that same live audience? Do you use multiple computers or displays? How do you ensure projection of intended Slido information and not administrative content / screens? Assume that the projected Slido content will come from a laptop hooked up to projection via HDMI. I’m concerned that when the admin selects ‘present’, the screen control changes on the host laptop so administration functions are no longer available. I’m concerned about ‘administration’ and ‘presentation’ from a single laptop isn’t clean as I don’t want the audience to see administration items and content.

Recommendations for running real-time voting poll with open-ended text fields?

We are hosting a virtual costume contest and want attendees to vote for each of their favorite categories during the team call. What recommendations do you have to pull this off successfully? There are 5 categories for voting, including best overall. It is also impossible for us to pre-load a survey or multiple choices with names and/or voting options as the costumes will be revealed and need to be written in real-time. We are also expecting 25+ attendees, so pre-populating a multiple choice with expected names won’t be feasible. Is there a template for this use case? I am new to Slido and have currently set it up as multiple polls with word clouds, each integrated into the meeting PPT. The tutorial videos indicate the more popular words will be larger, but we prefer to see actual voting numbers (if even only me and a meeting collaborator). I am not finding how best to tabulate such results for the open text words, nor how best to export the outcomes for each poll question. Thank you!

Setting up Participant login via Okta SSO

I am attempting to configure participant SSO via Okta. I already have Member SSO in place however, the documentation is suggesting that in order for participants to log in and ask questions they must use the separate integration. There is no pre-built Okta integration for Participants so I’d like to know what I need to enter for the following: Single sign-on URL Audience URI (SP Entity ID) Secondary to the above question, is there an option to leverage the existing IDP connection used for Members to allow participant login?

For example: Choose your favourite colour: red blue Depending on what the person choses a follow up question appears. For example, if someone chose 1. red, the next question is: 2. Interactive Webinar Experiences with Slido

I’ve been using Slido for in-person events for the last 1.5 years and I’ve used a few times for webinars. We’re shifting our approach to webinars to make them more interactive. In fact, they’re less webinar and much more of an engagement experience. That said, getting engagement can be hard even with in-person events (I know personally). We use ice-breakers to get folks familiar with Slido and that has worked well. Here’s our use case: We have an experience with 3 different challenges and wanted responses on a 2-3 questions for each challenge. Would 3x3 = 9 types of questions be too much in a 45 minute span? Does integration with Zoom work better when sharing slides? What’s the max number of questions or polling you’ve done in a 45 min online event with 100 people? This is with “prospect customers”, not an internal company event, so the stakes for a smooth execution are much higher. I’ll happily share what we end up doing and the results. Thanks, Peter

Transferiing events from one accout to another

Please can someone help by giving instructions on how you can transfer current events from one Slido account to another? My company has recently purchased a new professional account with Slido whilst we had a shared account with another department that had deferred back to a basic account and I want to avoid having to create the events again in the new account. Pre-defined list of phrases for the Word cloud poll type

How can I predefine the suggested list of phrases for the Word Cloud poll type? For example, I want to ask the audience to tell me the names of brands they use to gather logs. And I already provided them a short list of most popular ones like: ElasticSearch, Grafana Loki, StatsD, Datadog, New Relic. So, via the poll I want the audience to not only choose brands that they use now, but also type new brands that are not listed yet. So the “Multiple Choice” poll type doesn’t suit because they can’t add new options there. The “Word Cloud” poll suite more, but I can’t predefine the list of suggested options, so people will type something like “Elastic” + “ElasticSearch” + “Elastic Search” + “Elastic Stack” + “ELK” and we will got a lot of duplicates. So, could you please extend the “Word Cloud” poll configuration to allow adding predefined suggested options, with keeping the ability to add new custom strings?

Outside A/V Team

I am looking for recommendations on the best way to present a PowerPoint deck with some Slido polls intermixed throughout the presentation by an outside A/V person. I have created these with the Slido powerpoint plugin. It works great when I present it on my device. Although, for the speaking event, the presentation must be displayed on a device owned by the events company. What is the recommended method for this situation?
